Tiwi Grand Final and Art Show - Travel Options 2021
Sea Darwin had travelled to the Tiwi Islands Footy Final and Art Show every year since 2009. And then came the 2020 COVID year, the year that we all want to forget. In the wake of refunding all of our 2020 guests, we are thinking onwards and upwards to the 2021 Tiwi Islands Footy Grand Final and Art Show. And for 2021 Sea Darwin has three transport options:
1. THE BIG DAY OUT - FOOTY AND ART:
Return Transfers to Wurrumiyanga on Sunday 21 March 2021 (0900 to 1800hrs). $269.00 per seat
- An exhilarating return trip from Darwin to the Tiwi Islands departing Stokes Hill Wharf at 0900hrs
- Arriving at Warimiyunga(Nguiu) around 1100 hrs
- From the beach an easy stroll to the museum, art centres & footy game
- BYO lunch or buy it there. Note; No BYO alcohol!
- Licensed bar on boat, nibbles also available

- Return to Darwin after the final siren sounds - usually by 1800 or shortly thereafter

Return Transfers to Wurrumiyanga on Sunday 21 March 2021 (0600 to 1500hrs). $249.00 per seat
- An exhilarating return trip from Darwin to the Tiwi Islands departing from Cullen Bay at 0600 hour
- Arriving at Warimiyunga(Nguiu) around 0800
- Be amongst the first to arrive at the Tiwi Art Show in the town centre
- Have time to explore the museum and Ngaruwanajirri Gallery

About the Journey and our Vessels:
Sea Darwin has fast, open vessels with canopy cover. We travel to the island at 25 knots, weather dependent, and we have clears to drop in the event of rain or sea spray. In the many years that we have transversed the Timor Sea to the Tiwi Island, we've had glassy seas, we’ve dodged storms and we’ve ocean rafted across. At times we’ve been accompanied by dolphins, we’ve seen whales and we’ve had flying fish land in the boat. We’ve rescued a ghost net and had white horses gallop around the boat! It's been idyllic conditions, wet and wild, and everything in between. But whatever the journey has been, those on board have always been on a mission. The mission has been to witness one of the iconic events in modern Australian history, the annual Tiwi Footy Grand Final and/ or to cast their eves over some of the nations most intriguing and evocative art work, all for sale for a fraction of the price charged in mainland art galleries.
