"We had a fantastic time with Jim and Rosco, the crew of Sea Darwin "up the creek". We would recommend this to all visiting Darwin."

About the tour Let us take you up the creek or to the sandbar?

Will the door be up or down, or will we get sand between our toes?

Will the door be up or down, or will we get sand between our toes?

Jump on board with Sea Darwin for a one hour Darwin local experience - we may go up the creek to check out a crocodile trap or if the tide says so, we may go and get our feet damp on a nearby sandbar.  After an introduction to the geography and landmarks of Darwin Harbour, we'll  learn about the pristine tropical ecosystems of the harbour. On bigger tide days we will take you up the creek past an eclectic collection of boats that ooze story and character before arriving at a crocodile trap to see if the door is up or down, and if there isn't sufficient water, we will opt for a visit to the spectacular sandbar and have a leg stretch instead.

Darwin's back yard!

Darwin's back yard!

Your cruise takes in Darwin Harbour's tropical seascape. You'll check out Fisherman’s Wharf where you'll hear about Darwin’s pearling history and modern-day fishing commerce, before venturing out into the harbour proper where you will pause at locations to hear about some of the history of Darwin before seeing first-hand the Darwin City skyline and the hive of activity of our modern Harbour, including our Defence base.

About the harbour

About the harbour

Officially a working harbour, the waters of Darwin share the comings and goings of cruise liners, supply ships and HMAS Coonawarra, with a plethora of sea animals and birds nurtured by healthy feeding grounds of sea grasses and mangroves. Surviving bombing raids during WW2 and the ravages of cyclones, Darwin Harbour is rich in both western history and aboriginal culture. We keep a close look out for wildlife and mammals and are often rewarded!  Discover Darwin Harbour is an all-round experience which varies from day to day and season to season. The local crew use the tides, the weather and the season to showcase Darwin Harbour activity. As you cruise you will explore the unique diversity and dimension of the Harbour, taking in the habitat, history and intrigue of what is happening on the day.
